Non-Public Textbooks

2020-2021 Nonpublic Textbook Loan process

  • The intention of the CPS Nonpublic Textbook office is to begin accepting textbook returns beginning 6/15/20 and ending 7/3/20. Hours of operation will be 8:30AM -2:30PM, Monday through Friday.  In an effort to process returns efficiently and safely, we ask you to please make every effort to return your books during this time-frame.
  • The return process will take place in the gymnasium/cafeteria of the Horton School. This open space will allow for required social distancing. The drop-off area will have clearly marked 6ft intervals to ensure a safe distance is maintained among our patrons. Please use the entrance in the rear of the building to the left of the main entrance. Signs will be displayed directing you where to go.
  • You must, without exception, be wearing a face mask to enter the building.
  • Textbooks will be scanned in and your return receipt will be emailed to you.
  •  All textbook orders for the 20/21 academic year may be placed online, as we have done in the past. If you have questions regarding your required textbooks, please contact your school.
  • We will continue to provide updates to our process as more information becomes available. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we do our best to successfully navigate this unprecedented process.

Best wishes for a safe and healthy summer.

2020-2021 Nonpublic Textbook Loan process

  • The intention of the CPS Nonpublic Textbook office is to begin accepting textbook returns on 6/15 and continue through 7/3.  In an effort to process returns efficiently and safely, we ask you to please make every effort to return your books during this time-frame.
    • I have reached out to all private/parochial schools to determine the earliest date textbooks may be returned.  The majority indicated that to be 6/15
  • The return process will take place in the gymnasium/cafeteria of the Horton School. This open space will allow for required social distancing. The drop-off area will have clearly marked 6ft intervals to ensure a safe distance is maintained among our patrons.
    • We will need to have two computers set-up in the gym/cafeteria for this process. Desktops are not required.  As long as we have access to the Follett/Destiny site, we can use laptops. Scanners can be connected to laptops as well. We will require bins/boxes for the textbook collection. Returned books will remain in the bins/boxes for a minimum of 72 hours before being returned to the textbook room.  Tape markers will have to placed on the floor
  • You must, without exception, be wearing a face mask to enter the building.
    • All employees, students, families must wear face masks. Should we have a box or two of paper masks available?
  • Textbooks will be scanned in and your return receipt will be emailed to you.
    • Students/parents will open each book to the inventory barcode. CPS employee will scan the book, student/parent will place the book in the return bin.
  •  All textbook orders for the 20/21 academic year may be placed online, as we have done in the past. If you have questions regarding your required textbooks, please contact your school.
    • I am still waiting for several schools to provide their textbook lists.  Two email notifications have been sent out as of 5/11/2020
  • We will continue to provide updates to our process as more information becomes available. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we do our best to successfully navigate this unprecedented process.

Best wishes for a safe and healthy summer.
