Subject: Annual AHERA Notification – School Year 2026/2027
In accordance with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) and federal regulations (40 CFR Part 763), this letter serves as our annual notification to inform building occupants and legal guardians that our school district maintains an Asbestos Management Plan.
Management Plan Availability
A copy of the district’s updated Asbestos Management Plan is available for review by appointment during regular school hours at the main administrative office or individual school facility offices. You may inspect the records outlining past inspections, response actions, and periodic surveillance activities.
Inspection & Surveillance Activities
AHERA requires educational facilities to undergo a complete re-inspection every three years and periodic visual surveillance every six months. Our most recent periodic surveillance took place in [August 2026], and our next scheduled [3-year re-inspection / 6-month surveillance] is planned for [October 2026]. Any remaining asbestos-containing materials in our buildings are routinely managed and maintained in good condition.
