ATTENDANCE MATTERS: Are you ready for a new school year? Every day of the school year matters for every student. Research shows that when students are chronically absent (missing 10% or more of the school year or just 18 days over an entire year), they are less likely to read proficiently by third grade, achieve in middle school and graduate from high school. Keep an eye on your attendance all year long, and begin the school year with good attendance habits. To put things in perspective, after 30 school days, ten percent and chronically absent means just three absences. Having trouble getting to school? You can reach out to our district Dean of Students and Attendance by email at [email protected] or by phone at 401-440-5216. Not sure when school starts or what time you need to be there? Click here.

September 1, 2023
Dear parents and guardians,
Welcome back! We had a successful first two days of school. Our PreK, K, 1, 6 and 9 students came in on Thursday and all students came to school today, kicking off our school year. We continue to receive positive feedback from students and families alike who appreciate the staggered start to the school year. Those grades that arrived on Thursday are our transition grades, which means the students are new to the school. Having a staggered start gives them time to alleviate some new school anxiety by having a less overwhelming number of students in the building with them. We are pleased to be able to eliminate some of that back-to-school anxiety and worry for our students and for our families, and to give our faculty and staff some extra time to get to know the newest members of our school communities. We're also thankful now (and again in June) that we're able to ease into the school year with a couple of days before Labor Day, before starting up for full weeks. Easing into the year also helps those students who struggle with anxiety, and gets us that much closer to 180 days of school.
Our newest slideshow is on our district website! Be sure to take a look under News and Announcements below!
