Our primary goal in the fourth grade is to show our students that learning is an interesting, exciting, and ongoing process. We also aim to help our classes to become more capable problem-solvers and expressive writers. We hope to prepare them well so that they will become competent and enthusiastic adults!

Fourth graders need to continue to review and master their multiplication tables and math facts. Our focus this semester will be:

Math
Problem Solving and reviewing of Facts
Math Investigation Program
The content is arrays and shares, solids and silhouettes

Language/Reading/Writing
Grammar review and using writing prompts.
Reading skills will include inferencing, main idea and supporting details, context clues and etc.

Social Studies
The study of the Northeast and the Southeast with field trips to Slater Mill and a walking tour of Providence's East Side.
Several trade books will be integrated into our Social Studies units.

Science
The study of weather, electricity and magnetism will be focused on in our Science units.
