The second grade experience should offer
an opportunity to build upon skills
acquired in kindergarten and first
grade. We hope to foster enthusiastic
lifelong learners and divergent thinkers.
The children will be exposed to literature on a regular basis, which
will be integrated into all subject areas. We strive to create literate readers who are excited and prepared to
learn.
We will also work diligently on writing skills to allow the children to
establish
themselves as proficient writers in both creative and directed writing.
Another goal of second grade is to encourage our children to be
confident, positive, kind, and cooperative students. We will continue to work on values which have
begun at home.
Second grade should be a positive,
constructive opportunity for all children
to grow and learn.
