Students are marked on the basis of their ability to do the work of the group to which they are assigned.  A QUARTERLY SCHOLARSHIP GRADE (Q) is reported for your information, but the final credit is determined by the CUMULATIVE SCHOLARSHIP GRADE (CU) reflecting the work done from the beginning of the year to the end of the period when the grade is reported.  The FINAL SCHOLARSHIP GRADE (FG) is made part of the permanent school record.

EFFORT

Students receive a mark of 1, 2, or 3 in effort according to the extent to which they:

§  Work well according to abilities

§  Prepare work well and on time

§  Use time effectively

§  Give attention to explanations and discussions

§  Make and effort to participate in classroom procedures

§  Make up work missed due to class absence

§  Try to carry out directions

 

CITIZENSHIP

Students receive a mark of 1, 2, or 3 in citizenship according to the extent to which they:

§  Are polite and courteous to fellow students and teachers

§  Can be depended upon to do the right thing

§  Get along with other people

§  Are willing to cooperate for the best interest of all

§  Show willingness to accept constructive criticism

§  Accept responsibility

 

COMMENTS

 

Students may receive up to three narrative comments for each class at progress report time.  Quarterly Report Cards may also include up to two narrative comments for each class for a better understanding of progress.
