When
you need to find information on a specific topic on the Internet, it is helpful
to use a search engine or directory. You can type in the topic and the
search engine will find web sites that have information about your topic.
The following search engines are designed for children so that you will not get
information that is either too difficult or inappropriate.
Yahooligans--a directory of
the Internet for children ages 7-12. Type in a key word or browse the
categories.
Kids
Click---A collection of sites for elementary school
children arranged by subject. Can be searched by
reading level.
Ask Jeeves
for Kids---children can ask questions in
sentence format and get answers and links to websites that provide further
information.
Safe Surf
Kid's Wave--Contains a great number of links to
web sites appropriate for children, some of which were constructed by children.
Enchanted
Learning---Has many links to useful sites on
many topics which are educational and fun for children.
Berit'sBest Sites for Kids---100 safe
sites for children, listed by topic, both educational and fun.
