What’s New for June
at the Parent Café?
Only two cafes left for this school year! On Monday, June 1st come meet Officer Davis who will tell you about how the Safe Routes to School Grant will help the Gladstone Community. Then for the last café, on Monday, June 8th, Summer Activities will be the topic. We’ll provide you with tons of ideas to keep your kids busy and learning all summer! Cafés start at 8:20 a.m. in room A-14. See you there! If you have not made it to a café yet it’s not too late, we’d love to see you!
Special thanks to everyone who supported our first year of Parent Café at Gladstone- COZ, PTG, Gladstone Teachers & Staff, Americorps volunteer Charlotte, Mrs. Palumbo, Mr. Garceau, all the community visitors, and Blue State Coffee. The café could not have happened without a generous legislative grant from RI Senator Beatrice Lanzi. Also, a HUGE thank you to the parents who came to the cafés to learn about helping their children become better learners, and to building a strong parent community at Gladstone. Be sure to fill out the survey at the bottom of this month’s flyer to tell us how to make the café even better for next year!

Be Creative @ Your Library!
From Mrs. Cardente
It is easy to get ready for summer reading at the public library!
First, make sure you have your library card.
Then, get your refrigerator magnet ready to hang that Summer Reading List that your child will be bringing home from school.
Next, take note of the summer programs and activities that are being planned for families at the Central library and all the branches.
Finally, remember, read with your child. It is so simple, but it could not be more powerful!
So, Be Creative at Your Library and enjoy your reading time together! |
