Welcome Back
This school year is sure to be filled with fun and excitement at Cranston Public Schools. Sodexo is proud to partner with your school district to provide nutritious meals for your children. Our unique approach provides students with a variety of healthy menu choices designed specifically to satisfy their taste preferences. Each of us at Sodexo is truly committed to “making every day a better day” for the children we serve. Your dedicated management team consists of Lynne Conca, General Manager; Aaron Lenart, Production Manager and Nick Terrizzi, Food Service Manger. Combined they have over 40 years experience in the food service industry.
Meal service begins on Tuesday August 31 in all schools and will include breakfast and lunch. The school district participates in the USDA National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs, which means that all meals meet or exceed the guidelines and regulations for the School Meals Initiative for Healthy Children. There will also be la carte snacks and beverages available during lunch at the secondary schools that meet the Alliance for a Healthier Generation guidelines.
Our theme for this year’s food program is Food, Friends & Fun! We’ve planned lots of exciting events to encourage the students to learn more about nutrition and healthy eating habits that will benefit them for a lifetime.
We recognize that providing an enjoyable dining
experience for our students involves more than serving healthy and delicious
food. It also includes creating a
multi-sensory dining environment that results in an uplifting emotional
event. The bright and cheerful décor of
our three programs will create a welcoming environment for the students of Cranston
Public Schools. Elementary school
students will enjoy Kids’ Way Café. Each
month we display a variety of materials featuring engaging nutrition and
activity messages and graphics to encourage our students to follow Lift-Off!’s
advice to “eat healthy and stay active.”
All materials are specifically designed to reinforce the healthy
lifestyle message in a kid-friendly manner.
Middle school students will find Energy Download Zone with terrific
graphics and a variety of healthy, energy-packed food choices. High school students will enjoy an increased
variety of their favorites in the Cross Roads Café. Our new marketing materials will be phased in
over the next few months.
Elementary menus are distributed to households
monthly to keep parents and children informed of the daily meal options. We also include supplemental information
about childhood wellness and nutrition topics.
Menus for all schools will also be posted online at www.sodexoeducation.com
Elementary, middle, and high school students
have many unique qualities and traits that define who they are and who they
will become. That is why we look forward
to serving the students, parents, and staff at
Thank you for your support and interest in the
